Getting married in Brittany

Located north of Rennes, Château de Montmuran is an ideal venue for your wedding when you are based in or around Rennes.

Getting married at Château de Montmuran means choosing a place that carries within it the nobility of time, the softness of the Breton countryside, and the discreet elegance of historic grand estates. A place shaped by centuries, by stone, by tales of knights and battles… but also by the love stories still being written there today.

Composed of two majestic towers with machicolations, the entrance is protected by a portcullis, a moat, and two fully functioning drawbridges. After a clash with the Duke of Calverley — the famous English captain who attempted to seize Montmuran by surprise — Bertrand du Guesclin was knighted on Maundy Thursday in 1354, on the very spot where the château’s chapel now stands.

And I speak of Montmuran with such precision because I know it intimately: I got married there myself. I know exactly how it feels to cross its drawbridge, to walk through its inner courtyard, to watch the light slide across the stone walls adorned with magnificent hydrangeas. I know what this château offers couples: an authentic, living, deeply photogenic setting.

A Breton château steeped in history, at the heart of a preserved landscape

Located north of Rennes, Montmuran is a true haven of freshness. In summer, when the city swelters under heatwaves, the château enjoys a gentler microclimate: the air flows more freely, the heat is less overwhelming, and the evenings are wonderfully mild.

It is a place where you can breathe. A place where you feel good. A place that welcomes weddings with natural elegance.

Its ramparts, drawbridge, inner courtyard, majestic trees, canopy‑bed suites, orangery, chapel, and sumptuous salons offer a rare variety of settings for a wedding day. Here, every stone tells a story. Every corner reveals an atmosphere. Every light creates an emotion.

For a wedding, Montmuran is an extraordinary playground

A ceremony in the gardens, A cocktail in the medieval courtyard, A couple session beneath the centuries‑old trees, Group photos in front of the drawbridge, Sunset portraits in the surrounding fields…

Each space has its own magic, its own light, its own atmosphere. And because I lived my own wedding day there, I know the best moments of the day for each location: the softest areas during summer heat, the spots that come alive at sunrise, the angles that turn golden in late afternoon.

My role: to guide you, elevate you, and tell your story

As a photographer specializing in weddings in Brittany, I bring you this intimate knowledge of the château. I accompany you with a natural, elegant, intuitive approach: observing, feeling, waiting for the right moment rather than forcing it.

I work with natural light — the kind that gives images their organic, timeless, almost painterly softness. At Montmuran, this light is exceptional: it glides across the stone, reflects in the gardens, and wraps silhouettes with a rare delicacy.

Images that stand the test of time

Getting married at Château de Montmuran means living a suspended moment in a setting that has endured through the centuries. My ambition is to create images that tell your story with sincerity, style, and depth. Images that feel true, that move you, and that will become an heirloom.

Montmuran leaves a mark. Your wedding will too. Photographing it means preserving it forever — for you, your future children, and your grandchildren.

If you wish to book the château for your wedding, feel free to contact its owners and mention my name. You will be warmly welcomed.
